Prep Chef
Boston Tea Party
Behind every great service is great prep.
We’re looking for a brilliant Prep Chef to join our Boston Tea Party kitchen team.
Our cafés can get seriously busy, and a great service starts long before the first check hits the kitchen.
That's where you come in.
As a Prep Chef, you'll help make sure our kitchen is ready for whatever the day throws at us. You'll prepare ingredients, receive and put away deliveries, keep everything organised and jump onto KP when the kitchen needs you.
This is a hands-on role, and everyone gets stuck in.
What you'll be doing
Your job is to help keep the kitchen organised, prepared and moving.
You'll:
Prepare ingredients and food ready for service.
Follow our recipes, portioning and preparation standards.
Receive deliveries, checking they're correct and up to standard.
Put deliveries away safely, quickly and in the right place.
Rotate stock and help keep our storage areas organised.
Follow our food safety, allergen and kitchen standards.
Keep prep areas clean, tidy and ready to use.
Support the chefs during busy services when needed.
Work on KP, keeping dishes, equipment and kitchen areas clean and moving.
Help with cleaning and all the everyday jobs that keep a brilliant kitchen running.
Work with the wider kitchen team to make sure we're ready for the next service.
Some days you'll spend more time prepping. Other days the delivery might arrive and need sorting, or KP might be where the team needs you most.
Being a Prep Chef at Boston means being happy to turn your hand to all three.
Who we're looking for
Kitchen experience is useful, but attitude matters just as much.
We're looking for someone who's organised, reliable and happy with a role that keeps them moving.
You'll need to be comfortable working across prep, deliveries and KP — they're all important parts of the job.
You'll be someone who:
Fuels Growth
You're willing to learn and develop your kitchen skills. You take feedback on board and want to get better at what you do.
Leads Responsibly
You care about doing things properly. You follow food safety standards, check deliveries carefully, rotate stock and take pride in keeping your workspace clean and organised.
Makes Connections
You're a team player. If the chefs need prep, you prep. If a delivery arrives, you help get it sorted. If KP needs support, you roll your sleeves up and get stuck in.
No egos. Just one kitchen team.
What's in it for you?
We'll give you the training and support you need to become brilliant at the role.
For some people, Prep Chef is exactly the job they're looking for — a hands-on kitchen role as part of a great team.
For others, it can be the start of something bigger.
If you discover you love cooking and want to develop further, there are opportunities to build your kitchen skills and progress towards becoming a Chef and beyond.
You'll also get a great package of Boston benefits and one of the biggest advantages of working in our kitchens:
Daytime hospitality without the late-night finishes.
Good Eggs Only
We've been doing things a little differently since 1995.
We care about great food, great coffee, our communities and doing business in a way we're proud of.
And we know brilliant food doesn't happen without all the work behind the scenes.
The prep matters. The deliveries matter. The washing up matters.
Every job in the kitchen matters.
So if you're organised, hardworking and the kind of person who sees what needs doing and gets stuck in, we'd love to meet you.
Come and be part of the team that keeps Boston cooking.
